I don't often share something I do like most in my culture and that is the dancing the base of our culture

taking the language the dance the rythme

the dancing takes about 12 yrs to become a dancer so many things come into place to be a Dancer

starting from the growth of your first Ipu then Your Ipu heke learning the music the song and the move

a real dialog with nature

Check out this video and You might be surprise what beauty in my eyes means

Someone said once

True, the white man brought great change. But the varied fruits of his civilization, though highly colored and inviting, are sickening and deadening. And if it be the part of civilization to maim, rob, and thwart, then what is progress?

I am going to venture that the man who sat on the ground in his tipi meditating on life and its meaning, accepting the kinship of all creatures, and acknowledging unity with the universe of things, was infusing into his being the true essence of civilization....

Chief Luther Standing Bear, 1933,
From the Land of the Spotted Eagle, p.515

Something terrible is happening

Photo composite of Wall Arch in Utah (© National Park Service/AP)

A beloved landmark is gone. Wall Arch, an iconic stone formation at Arches National Park, has collapsed. We're feeling the loss, looking at pictures from before and after the fall and searching the Web for more details on the park.

No one saw the arch collapse, so no need to waste time searching for video capturing the crumble. But top searches lead us to the photographs that have made the Utah park famous. What's so special? Thousands of naturally formed sandstone arches and rock formations, plus petroglyphs carved by members of the Ute tribe.

But the same forces that gave us the arches (namely, gravity and erosion) are taking a toll on them. As Paul Henderson, chief of interpretation for the park, told The Washington Post, "They all let go after a while." The famous Landscape Arch has shed so much stone that the hiking trail beneath it has been closed.

That's why there might be a sense of urgency as Web searchers hunt for the following sights:

Delicate Arch, a landmark formation that's featured on postage stamps and Utah license plates;

Devils Garden, an area featuring multiple arches and sandstone fins;

Balanced Rock, a mammoth stone formation that seems to defy gravity; and

The Petrified Dunes, where sandstone domes resemble a rolling desert landscape.

L'eau

what will happen when...

what will happen when the water will be gone ...

what will we do...

how will we survive

how will the earth survive..

how can we be so mean to what's surrending us..

how can we ignore what life is

and how do we kill all that..

i wander how we can even breath not thinking of tomorrow..

how will life be for our futurs....

MaOrI movies... to see again and again....

Beautiful Movie hard to explain the beauty in simplicity...

The movie's plot follows the story of Paikea Apirana ("Pai") at the age of 12 who is the only living child in the line of the tribe's chiefly succession because of the death of her twin brother and mother during childbirth. By tradition, the leader should be the first-born son a direct patrilineal descendant of Paikea, the one who rode atop a whale from Hawaiki. However, Pai is female.

Once we were Warrior is just the story of people loosing their identity .. and trying to get back to their culture..

taking time. tears and Lost to get to...

This is a cruel world but so real and so happening is not lost identity area..

I am talking about Maori but YOu can see the same on ROsebud South Dakota or in Tuba City Arizona..

the lost of Identity is the worst culture can go under..

Why is one culture better than another

The worst is that it is happening Today ... right here.. now..
One could thing this Happened a while Bck but.Its not..

that is the problem

AdaM Beach

Born in Ashern, Manitoba, Adam Beach grew up with his two brothers on the Dog Creek Indian Reserve. When he was eight, his mother, who was eight months pregnant, was killed by a drunk driver. Soon after the car crash, his father died in a boating accident. Beach and his brothers subsequently moved to Winnipeg to live with an aunt and uncle.[1]

Peter GaRReTT

Garrett was educated at the Australian National University in Canberra and then at the University of New South Wales, where he graduated in arts and law respectively. He was a rock singer and environmental activist before entering politics. He became lead singer of the successful Australian rock band Midnight Oil in 1973. As well as its great musical and commercial success, the band became well known for its commitment to environmentalist and left-wing causes, and was particularly critical of United States military and foreign policies during the 1980s.

Garrett served as president of the Australian Conservation Foundation from 1989 to 1993 and 1998 to 2004. He also joined the International Board of Greenpeace in 1993 for a two-year term. He served as adviser and patron to various cultural and community organisations including Jubilee Debt Relief, and was a founding member of the Surfrider Foundation.

Midnight Oil had a history of making political statements through their music and performances. At the closing ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, the group performed before Prime Minister John Howard and a television audience of hundreds of millions, wearing black tracksuits bearing the word "sorry." This referred to the Howard Government's refusal to apologise to Aboriginal Australians for the former policy of removing of Aboriginal children from their families.

In 2000 Garrett was awarded the Australian Humanitarian Foundation Award in the Environment category and in 2001 he received an honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of New South Wales. He left Midnight Oil in 2002 to concentrate on his environmental and social activism, effectively spelling the end for the group. He has since ruled out any future musical projects, stating that his musical career was always exclusively bound to Midnight Oil. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2003.

Following the Asian Tsunami of Boxing Day 2004, Garrett and the other members of Midnight Oil reformed for two gigs as a part of the fund raising event WaveAid.

On 7 July 2007 Garrett presented at the Australian leg of Live Earth.
